Human kind cannot survive a single day without energy.
Throughout the change of the history in the use of energy, the meaning of energy is understood, and the global-scale energy crisis due to energy depletion is understood as the visitors use the renewable energy facilities to produce and experience the renewable energy.
 

 
Experience the global energy crisis and energy consumption
Geothermal energy
At the entrance of the building, a brief introduction on the geothermal energy is provided as the visitors try out one of the core technology of the zero energy building, the geothermal heat pump at the geothermal equipment room.

Geothermal heat pump
As the visitor turns the lever, the compressor compresses the coolant to a highly pressurized state of a high temperature. The pressure gage then moves, and the visitors can feel the difference in temperature as they touch the two coil handles.

 

Think energy
Five most representative models of different eras are exhibited to show how the energy technology and use evolved over human history (primitive power - natural power - steam power - electric power - nuclear energy - renewable energy (panels)).

Solar energy
Move the Sun!
The solar energy means energy that is generated by the sun in the form of 'light'. With this solar energy experiential exhibit, the visitors may understand how the solar energy and the solar energy panels work.
Rotating plate experiential installation : After sitting on the chair, a visitor may turn the rotating mirror plate up, down, left, and right to have the light reflected upon the solar panel on the wings of the air plane, which is mounted on the upper structure. Then, the air plane starts to move.

 

Water energy
Move the water!
The hydro energy is a method of generating electricity by using the energy of water falling from a height to land on a turbine, spinning it. You can activate the pumps for the model hydro power plants of different heights and see the differences in the amount of generated energy depending on the height difference.

Wind energy
Blow the wind!
Operate the hand that generates the wind power. Direct the outlet of the wind blower to the direction of the pinwheel and turn the handle rapidly. Then, you will see which of the differently designed pinwheel generate the largest amount of electricity.
Wind power energy comparison depending on the blade : The visitors may turn the windlass with the wind blower aligned to the proper direction, the pinwheels will turn and the amount of power generated will be shown on the LED panels on the bottom.

 

Bio energy
Let's generate electricity using waste materials.
The bio energy can be obtained from rape (the flower), animal waste, and food garbage. The bio energy fuel may come in two different forms, the liquid fuel and gas fuel.
How bio energy is created : The visitors may touch the embossed patterns of a motor vehicle or gas range to see the relevant fuel process on the LED, which leads to the sunflower seeds or good garbage.

 

Fuel cell
Let's complete a fuel cell.
Hydrogen fuel cells work through a reversed electrolysis process, that is, combining hydrogen and oxygen to generate electricity and heat.
Interactive exhibition showing how fuel cells work to generate electricity : As the visitor turns the lever on the blown-up model of a fuel cell, he/she may view the process of energy conversion, which is caused by the oxidization of the fuel, as well as a blown up model of the fuel cell.
