Solar Power

Photovoltaic solar panels installed on the roof and the "solar playground" generate power

Geothermal Heat Pump (GHP) / Ground Source Heat Pump (GSHP)

Underground temperature - warmer in winter and cooler in summer than aboveground - supports the building's

heating and cooling

Automatic Lighting Control

The lighting in the building is controlled by an automated system.

Heat Recovery Ventilation

The exhaust air is used as either a heat source or a heat sink depending on weather conditions, season and

demands.

Energy Efficient Cooling Compressor

An advanced magnetic suspension technology is adopted to the cooling compressor to increase energy efficiency and to reduce noise.

Energy Storage System (ESS)

The surplus power from solar panels is stored in batteries.

Building Energy Management System (BEMS) and Building Automation System (BAS)

All energy-related data about the building are monitored and analyzed for optimal control of various building

compartments.

External Venetian Blinds

Automated control of the venetian blinds on the windows optimally controls the solar radiation penetrating the

building.

Triple Pane Windows

All the windows are fitted with triple pane windows with low-emissivity glass, functioning as a passive element of

the ZEB.

Highly Efficient Thermal Insulation

The highly efficient thermal insulation materials reduce heat exchange through walls and thereby save heating and cooling energy.

Slanted Sunlight Reflecting Walls

The slanted walls made of synthetic granite allows diffused natural light to light up the building.

Light Well

A light well is designed to bring natural light into the center of the building to light the building.

Slanted Windows

Due to the seasonal angle changes in the solar path, the slanted windows block direct sunlight during summer

while allowing sunlight in the winter.

External Thermal Insulation

Reduced thermal bridges by using enhanced thick insulation material in walls and ceilings

Glass of Windows

Insulated Glass Unit (IGU) with U-value less than 0.7W/m².K window panes

Window Panes

Enhanced Air-tightness with U-value less than 0.10W/m².K

External Venetian Blind

Fully automated control and manual remote control are available for adjusting blade angle and roller length as

needed.

Synthetic Granite for external Wall

The natural light reflection rate is greater than 60%.

| Key Elements of Active Design (Installation of Renewable Energy)

Geothermal Heat Pump (GHP) / Ground Source Heat Pump (GSHP)

Highly efficient heat pumps with 112 kW power provide radiated cooling/heating conditions to the building.

3 GHPs use the heat extracted from underground through 37 boreholes located next to the building with

50m depth each.

Photovoltaic Solar Panels

PV Capacity : 272kW, Total number of panels: 864(624 roof + 240 playground)
